Every accredited lab receives stock the same way, and it is the wrong way.
Reagents, calibrators and controls arrive on paper dockets. Someone transcribes each line into a controlled workbook, checks a separate register if they remember to, and reconstructs the trail by hand when a recall or an assessment demands it. The record that every assessment traces back to is the least automated record in the building.
The obvious fix, a cloud system, is the one most laboratories cannot adopt. Delivery data is confidential, hospital networks are locked down, and the controlled logs are Excel workbooks with years of validation behind them. Any system that asks the lab to change its system of record, or to send data off-site, stalls at IT and quality.
The productLotWarden is built the other way round. It runs from a folder, only on the PCs a site nominates, never opens a network connection, and writes into the lab's own workbooks through Excel. It reads any supplier's docket after being taught from one clean copy, checks every lot against the acceptance register, builds the investigation worklist, and produces the NATA or ISO 9001 assessment pack in a minute. Every action is hash-chained in an audit log that IT can verify in ten minutes.
